Texas AG set to be keynote speaker at chamber luncheon

HARLINGEN — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton will be the keynote speaker for the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce’s Public Affairs Luncheon on Thursday, July 20.

The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the TSTC Cultural Arts Center.

Every quarter, the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce plans a Public Affairs Luncheon for members and partners to network, have lunch away from the office and learn more about various interests in government and constitutional issues from influential speakers such as Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Sen. Ted Cruz and Commissioner of the Texas General Land Office, George P. Bush.

Texas’ 51st Attorney General, Ken Paxton, is known for his principled and uncompromising devotion to America’s founding values, and as a man who has demonstrated enormous political courage throughout his service to Texas.

The son of an Air Force veteran, Paxton is a stalwart leader with an abiding passion and deep-seated respect for our U.S. Constitution.

Paxton is a defender of the country’s free enterprise system and has worked to make Texas a beacon of economic prosperity, opposing burdensome government regulations that harm Texas jobs and stunt economic growth.

However, Paxton has had his own troubles while in the state AG’s office.

For close to two years, he has been fighting charges that he misled investors in a company from before his time as attorney general.

This luncheon will serve as a premier event for membership to meet the state’s attorney general and learn more about issues impacting the local community.
