Brownsville police are investigating the murder of a home health care provider.
Police say they were called on a welfare concern to the 400 block of Jose Marti Boulevard in the Brownsville Country Club area on Sunday night around 8:45 p.m.
When they arrived they found 69-year-old Hilda Cantellano dead on the floor.
Cantellano was a health care provider for an elderly bedridden woman who lived at the address.
The victim’s nephew reportedly went to check on his aunt because she never arrived home from work and found her dead.
Police interviewed the elderly resident and then transported her by ambulance to Valley Regional Medical Center.
Justice of the Peace Mary Ester Sorola has requested an autopsy.
