Police: Man threatens to shoot Kohl’s security guards

HARLINGEN — A Harlingen man has been arrested after police say he pulled a gun on security guards at Kohl’s.

Police say they were called to the store late Thursday afternoon about a robbery.

They say the security guard told them Jonathan Tadeo Garza Bracamonte, 23, of Harlingen, stole a $60 gold necklace and then left the store without paying.

The guards said when they confronted the man, Garza Bracamonte allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot them.

The loss prevention officers stepped back and the man ran from the store and got into a green compact vehicle with a woman and a 3-year-old child inside.

Bracamonte was arrested about three hours later on Altas Palmas Road, south of Business 83 without incident.

He was arraigned on two first degree felonies for aggravated robbery, with bond totaling $150,000.
