Missing Palm Valley woman found safe in Lubbock

PALM VALLEY — Missing Palm Valley woman Alice Myers, 66, has been found safe in Lubbock.

Police said family members contacted Lubbock dispatch stating they had just spoken to Myers over the phone.

“Our dispatcher was able to ping the cell phone and determine it was located just west of Lamesa. We then notified the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office who was able to locate Myers,” police said.

Myers was reported missing Saturday after her daughter in Houston was unable to reach her. Myers was last seen by her neighbors on Thursday.

Earlier Tuesday, it was reported Myers bought a new vehicle in Lubbock and then asked the salesman to help her park her old vehicle at the United parking lot and then called a dealership in Harlingen to let them know where they could pick up the old car, police said.

Once the salesman saw local media reports that she was reported missing, he called the Palm Valley Police Department to give them the information.

Myers was released to the custody of a family friend and arrangements are being made for her to the Valley.
