Today’s high tides are making driving on Cameron County beaches on South Padre Island very difficult, so several of the beaches have been closed.
Effective immediately, Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño, Jr. has ordered the temporary closure (until further notice) of three county beaches.
The closure includes:
- County Beach Access No. 5 (north of South Padre Island)
- County Beach Access No. 6 (north of South Padre Island)
- Boca Chica Beach
Trevino says the high tides and making for undriveable conditions.
“We ask that all individuals be cautious when visiting our beaches.”
