SAN BENITO – For the sixth year in a row, San Benito’s NJROTC unit has been named a Distinguished Unit for the 2016-2017 school year.
The group moved up to fourth place overall (up from 10th last year), earning the academic honors designation again, and besting local rivals over in Los Fresnos for the first time.
Last year, out of 57 Texas schools competing, the group placed eleventh, and also earned a commendation award for academic honors.”
The NJROTC unit will be holding their annual NJROTC awards ceremony at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 6 at the Veterans Memorial Academy cafeteria.
