Lucio, Yzaguirre winning in early voting

It appears Sheriff Omar Lucio will keep his job for another four years.

In early voting Lucio secured nearly 65% of the votes with 39,944 over opponent Victor Cortez, who garnered 21,524 early votes.

And in the seat for Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector Tony Yzaguirre will be re-elected.

Yzaguiire, who is under indictment, easily beat two write-in candidates in early voting. He has 72% of the votes with 32,074 against his combined opponents numbers of 12,558.
