Staying put

HARLINGEN — The popular Logan’s Roadhouse here, and the two in McAllen, are not on the chopping block.

A spokesman for the fast-casual chain, which filed for bankruptcy in August and announced it would close up to 21 of its 250 restaurants, said the three Valley locations are definitely not on the list.

“While we have closed some restaurants nationally, our three restaurants in Harlingen, McAllen and North McAllen continue to serve guests,” Jonathan Dedmon, a principal with the public relations firm The Dilenschneider Group, said yesterday via email.

Logan’s Roadhouse, which is in the traditional “casual” sit-down category of restaurants, has been hit hard by the quicker-growing “fast-casual” category of restaurants.

Dedmon said the company has put together a comprehensive plan to restructure its business, and it expects the bankruptcy court to approve it in mid-November.

He said the plan for Logan’s consists of a commitment to improving quality, execution and offerings, including a revamp of the menu which is being tested in 17 locations.

Logan’s also has launched a new television and marketing campaign to rebrand the restaurant chain.

“We have 30 million diners that we serve each year, and we are committed to serving them,” Dedmon said. “We are going to do this with our timeless food offering, with a revised menu that provides guest favorites and ease of execution through true hospitality, which will be realized through training and development.”
