Parents search for answers to son’s death

LYFORD — Demetrio and Rosalinda Morales know a parent’s deepest pain — the death of a child.

But something gnaws at their pain — continuing questions.

Three months after 20-year-old Dylan James Morales’ death, they’re still searching for answers.

When he was killed the night of Father’s Day, Texas Department of Public Safety officers told the parents he died in a motorcycle race.

But a day after his burial, a DPS investigator told them a motorist killed him.

“It was an up-and-down rollercoaster of emotions, thoughts and feelings,” Demetrio Morales said yesterday.
