Is local Logan’s Roadhouse closing?

HARLINGEN — The Logan’s Roadhouse chain’s filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month will mean between 18 and 21 of its restaurants will close, company officials said.

It doesn’t appear the Logan’s Roadhouse at 2809 W. Expressway 83 will be among the locations to be shuttered. Two locations in McAllen also are expected to remain open.

Logan’s Roadhouse, which operates about 250 restaurants in 23 states nationwide, cited years of declining sales and increasing competition within the fast-casual dining niche as it seeks restructuring.

According to an Alabama Media Group report, the company has asked the bankruptcy judge presiding over its filing to void leases for 21 of its properties, although company officials said they plan to close just 18 locations.
