Heat index may reach 110 degrees this afternoon

The National Weather Service in Brownsville is warning today’s heat index could reach 110 in some areas of the Rio Grande Valley.

The above normal temperatures and high dew points will make the temperatures feel like 1005 to 110 degrees this afternoon.

Forecasters warn if you’re going to be outside make sure to drink plenty of water, wear light weight close and take frequent breaks.

The high indices will be felt from Brownsville, Harlingen, Raymondville, Weslaco, Mission, Edinburg and all the cities in between.
