Man charged with assaulting Walgreens clerk

A North Dakota man is behind bars accused of assaulting a Walgreens store clerk in Harlingen.

Police say Eric Christopher Gilbreath, 28, attacked the clerk at the Walgreens located on the 1800 block of West Tyler in Harlingen Tuesday around 7:30 p.m.

They say Gilbreath also stole and damaged store property as he fled and then attacked a man near the intersection of South P Street and West Tyler.

Gilbreath was seen running towards Chili’s when he was finally arrested behind the restaurant. He is charged with aggravated robbery, criminal mischief and assault. His bond is set at $112,500.

The female clerk was taken to an area hospital for her injuries. Police say the man who was attacked outside the store did not need medical treatment.
