EDINBURG — The last person suspected of leading a home invasion in a rural area of Edinburg was charged Tuesday in connection with that robbery.
Brady “Polo” Glen Jones, of Pharr, was arrested Monday night, a week after he and four other people robbed a home, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office officials said.
Jones was formally charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the home invasion where one man was bound and had a weapon pointed at him, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Celina Flores said.
His bond was set at $500,000, Flores said.
Flores said the 18-year-old, who had been considered armed and dangerous before deputies detained him, was one of five men who stormed the residence and made off with property.
The spokeswoman said tips sent into the Crime Stoppers phone number led to Jones’ arrest in Edinburg.
Last week, deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a home on Tejano Drive in rural Edinburg and came upon people fleeing from the home, Flores said.
The victim of the robbery, an unidentified man, had his hands bound with duct tape and was held at gunpoint, Flores said. No injuries were reported.
A gun was recovered from the scene of the robbery, Flores said.
Jones has a prior arrest in connection with the burglary of a habitation that took place in April of last year, according to jail records.
Last week Jesse Melendez, 18, Ricardo Alcantar, 18, Johan Ramos, 17, and another male teenager, 16, all of Pharr, were charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the incident.
If convicted of the aggravated robbery charge, a first-degree felony, all four adults face between five and 99 years in prison.
