HARLINGEN — Across the street from Pam Johnson’s garden home, traps had snared and caged javelina.
This, all, just months after a herd invaded her neighborhood.
During the two-week operation, city crews captured 11 wild pigs, relocating them to an area off U.S. 281 near Los Indios, far from the Parkview Terrace subdivision.
On Wednesday, crews removed the traps set under acorn trees near the neighborhood’s entrance, Ramiro Gonzales, the city’s environmental health director, said yesterday.
“I think we’ve done a good job,” Gonzales said. “There have been no more sightings at this time.”
