Beautification program opens up to teens

SAN BENITO — Have a teen that needs some extra cash?

The San Benito Parks and Recreation Department has opened up applications for its annual Summer Beautification Program. Students between the ages of 14 years old and 16 years old can apply for the month-long position that helps clean up the city.

Parks and Recreation director, Art Garza said ten students will be chosen to take part in the paid program. Students will work from Monday to Thursday for no more than 15 hours a week cleaning up a local park.

Garza said the program provides students with job experience and benefits the community.

Those interested in applying can pick up an application at the parks and recreation office on Reagan street.

Applications are due at the end of April.
