Who stands for a man who kneels?
This paper, The Monitor loves Beto O’Rourke and goes to great lengths to portray him as a man of the people. Yet he recently voted against legislation helping the victims of Hurricane Harvey with tax relief, since most of them had no flood insurance and most of them have incomes that did not qualify them for FEMA assistance.
Fortunately, the bill passed when Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez broke ranks with Reps. O’Rourke, Castro, Doggett and Veasy. You see the aforementioned who voted against the bill are party politicians who are easily swayed by the prevailing winds of politics and the favorable sound bite. Their allegiance is to the party, yet Beto is a man of the people, not hardly.
A man of the people is not pro-abortion, so if you are Catholic you just got thrown under the bus. A man of the people is not pro illegal immigration, so if you waited in line and paid to become a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident, you just got thrown under the bus for following the laws of legal immigration.
Finally, this man of the people is OK with professional athletes kneeling for the national anthem, so if you fought in a war for this country, or lost a family member in a war, all of you who sacrificed just got tossed under the O’Rourke bus also since he defends the right to kneel.
What kind of people stand with a man like that I wonder.
