The District 16-5A DI title race is going down to the wire as No. 8 Brownsville Veterans is set to face No. 9 Harlingen South in the RGVSports.com Game of the Week for Week 10.

The Chargers (6-2, 4-0) and Hawks (6-2, 4-0) are both undefeated in district play, which will change after the two collide at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Boggus Stadium in Harlingen.

The Hawks have won six straight since dropping their first two games of the season and are out-scoring opponents 264-36 during their win-streak.

The Chargers, meanwhile, have picked up four straight victories since the start of district play. Brownsville Veterans has won its last four games by a combined score of 198-37.

The Chargers ran away with last year’s meeting 47-15 on their home turf, which made tri-district champions out of Brownsville Veterans, Harlingen South and Weslaco East. This year, the 16-5A DI crown comes down to 48 minutes between the Chargers and Hawks on Friday in Harlingen.
