Two Raymondville women sought after botched robbery

HARLINGEN — Harlingen police are on the lookout for two women who allegedly took merchandise from Target during the weekend.

Arrest warrants for Norma Jean Garcia, 39, and Jacquie Lynn Valdez, 22, both of Raymondville, have been issued on charges of robbery, a second-degree felony.

According to a police report, at approximately 4:41 p.m. Sunday, Harlingen police arrived at the Target department store in reference to a robbery.

As officers arrived, they made contact with two loss prevention officers who reported that two female subjects concealed more than $100 of clothing in their purses and began to exit the store without paying.

In an attempt to stop the women from leaving the store, a physical altercation began.
