Calling all artists! If you ever wanted to get paid for painting all over city property, now’s your chance.

Keep McAllen Beautiful is looking for a muralist to help bring color to a 408-foot wall located on Pecan and Second Street. The new mural will serve as a reminder to keep Texas litter-free while also showing state pride by incorporating the “Don’t mess with Texas,” spirit.

Supported by the city and the Don’t Mess with Texas Campaign, Keep McAllen Beautiful will be paying for a stipend for the artist and funding for any materials necessary for the project.

Those who wish to participate can submit a design concept to Keep McAllen Beautiful along with an artist’s portfolio or previous works in JPEG, PNG or PDF formatting. Keep McAllen Beautiful is also asking artists to include explanatory notes where necessary.

Every design must be original and fit the size of the wall.

To apply visit www.keepmcallenbeautiful.org and download the submission form. The deadline to submit the form is Thursday, June 15.

Those selected will be announced Thursday, June 21.
