Hundreds watch Starship launch at Boca Chica Beach early Thursday

They came, they saw, they got video.

At the site of the SpaceX Starship launch at Boca Chica Beach on Thursday morning, hundreds of people hoping to catch a glimpse of the launch watched from Texas State Highway 48.

What they witnessed was what SpaceX called a successful launch that four minutes later gave way to an explosion that prematurely ended plans for an orbital flight.
