A 25-year-old Palmview man has been indicted on a charge of murder over allegations that he fatally beat his brother on Christmas with a PVC pipe.
Court records indicate Luis Matilde Enrique Cruz was scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment Wednesday morning.
He was booked into the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center on Dec. 25 following the holiday death of his brother, Saul Matilde Cruz.
Deputies arrested Luis at about 2:46 p.m. at a Mission hospital after nurses there said he arrived with his dead brother in his front seat, according to a probable cause affidavit.
That document is short and just said Luis admitted to fighting Saul and hitting him with a PVC pipe.
He remains held in the county jail on a $1 million bond.
