Hidalgo County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a deceased man north of Citrus City Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies responded to a welfare check at 1:16 p.m. near 12 Mile Line and Iowa Road, Sheriff Eddie Guerra said on social media. The caller reported a seemingly unresponsive man was lying by the side of the road.
When they arrived, the deputies confirmed the man was dead.
An equivocal death investigation is ongoing.
