Married couple charged in death of autistic teen in Brownsville

Brownsville police have arrested a woman and her common-law husband for allegedly murdering her 15-year-old autistic nephew on Monday, according to a news release.

Police arrested 27-year-old Julie Alexadria Brewington and her common-law husband 25-year-old Noe Garza and are charged with murder.

According to police, officers responded to the 300 block of Center Drive at about 4 a.m. regarding an unresponsive male subject.

Upon their arrival, officers found the 15-year-old autistic boy already dead.

“However, based on the crime scene, there was foul play involved,” the release said.

Investigators are currently waiting on autopsy reports.
