$1 million worth of cocaine found on South Padre Island

That’s not white sands on the shores of South Padre Island.

Cameron County Park Rangers found around $1 million worth of cocaine Thursday after an anonymous caller advised them of a package that washed up on shore at the Island.

The rangers received a call around 11:57 a.m. that led to them finding a package with a white powdery substance inside.

During their investigation, the substance found in the package tested positive for cocaine and was determined to weigh about 92 pounds.

Authorities determined that the value of the cocaine was $1,040,000.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Park Rangers and the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office.
