U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela, D-Brownsville, said he is frustrated with the outages impacting the Valley and the rest of the state.
Vela issued the following statement on Facebook:
“My fellow Texans, I am as frustrated and distraught as many of you by the current infrastructure failures across our state. Yesterday, my Texas colleagues and I voiced our concerns and demanded answers from Electric Reliability Council of Texas for the 24 and 48+ hour long power outages.
“We deserve answers. There is an unacceptable number of Texans freezing in their homes, without power and water for hours on end. My staff and I are monitoring this situation closely and will continue to provide relevant updates.”
