Hidalgo County reported 563 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday along with 14 additional deaths related to the virus.
Of the new cases, the county reported 494 as confirmed, 66 as probable and three as suspected.
The new cases bring the total for the county to 56,826, 39,438 of which are confirmed, 16,514 are probable and 874 are suspected.
The new fatalities raise the total death toll to 2,283.
Of those 14 deaths, 10 were men and four were women. All were older than 70 except a Mission man in his 50s and an Edinburg man in his 40s.
The county reported 421 people remain hospitalized with the virus, 140 of them in intensive care units.
