As part of an investigation initiated in 2019 that targets the Texas Syndicate street gang, the DEA executed 13 arrest warrants in Edinburg on Thursday morning.

One of those operations took place in the Triple B Mobile Home Park near Freddy Gonzalez and 10th Street.

DEA Special Agent in Charge Richard Sanchez said several individuals were arrested at the location.

Sanchez said authorities seized a quantity of currency at the location, but said authorities don’t yet have an exact amount.

The DEA also conducted operations in Hidalgo County and McAllen.

Since the operation began, Sanchez said the DEA has arrested more than 30 people, seized more than $444,000 in currency, more than 12 kilograms of cocaine and as many as 11 firearms.

The operation began around 6 a.m. Thursday morning.

Those arrested are expected to face conspiracy to distribute narcotics on the federal side and simple possession on the state side, Sanchez said.
