RGV Chick-fil-a restaurants kick off food giveaway for essential workers

Chick-fil-A restaurants across the Valley are teaming up to host a “Hometown Heroes” giveaway throughout the week for personnel in the military, education professionals and essential workers.

From Tuesday through Friday, the restaurant chain will give either a chicken sandwich or eight nuggets.

Each day will celebrate different workers, here is the schedule: 

>> Tuesday: Teachers, educators and school administrators;

>> Wednesday: First responders and Homeland Security personnel; 

>> Thursday: Nurses and medical professionals;

>> and Friday: Military personnel and veterans.

The hours of operation for each day is 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Those who qualify will be asked to provide proof of service, such as professional identification. Additionally, the offer can be picked up inside the restaurant or through the drive-thru. 

The offer is limited to one free entrée per person and is not valid with any other offer. 

“We are thrilled to celebrate our hometown heroes who serve the Rio Grande Valley in so many ways,” Luis Magdaleno, local restaurant operator of Chick-fil-A at 27th and Nolana, said. “We are grateful for everything they do to keep our community healthy, safe and educated and hope they enjoy an entrée on us.”
