HARLINGEN — The Harlingen Marathon kicked off here at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday at Lon C Hill Park.

There were several races available for runners. For solo runners, the full marathon (26.2 miles), the half marathon (13.1 miles) and the 5K races were available. For group runners, there was a two-person relay and a four-person relay available.

The course took runners through downtown Harlingen and landmarks around the city. Community members also came out to support and cheer on runners.
