SOUTH PADRE ISLAND — The usual sights and sounds of college students chanting on the beach while soaking up the sun and alcoholic beverages were nowhere to be seen Sunday on South Padre Island wrapping up the final week of Spring Break 2023.
Instead the sound of high surf could be heard along the coastline on SPI, with much of the beach empty as temperatures remained in the 50s throughout the morning and early afternoon.
As Spring Break 2023 comes to an end the Island prepares for its next crowd of visitors during Semana Santa 2023 during the first week of April.
