A 74-year-old man was arrested Sunday night for masturbating inside a whirlpool spa at the Gold’s Gym on McColl in Edinburg, police said in a probable cause affidavit.
Lucas Madrigal of Edinburg was arrested and booked Sunday on two public lewdness charges, which stem from allegations that he was caught nude from the waist down, with his shorts around his ankles, masturbating inside a spa at the gym.
Police, who arrived at the gym located at 627 S. McColl Road in Edinburg around 7:46 p.m., say in the affidavit that two women using exercise equipment witnessed the incident unfold from the second floor, with one shooting a video on their phone with a vantage point that was looking down on the man.
The women told police they were offended by the incident and sought to press charges.
One officer said in the affidavit that they witnessed a pornographic photo on Madrigal’s phone while he was looking for his son’s number.
Madrigal was released Monday on $20,000 in bonds.
