Harlingen CISD changes days for school food distribution

Harlingen CISD is making changes to the student meal distribution program in place because of COVID-19.

Parents picking up meals for their kids will soon be able to acquire several days worth of food in one trip.

Since the COVID-19 situation began, the Harlingen school district has continued to provide breakfast and lunch through its Good to Go program.

Parents have been coming to 24 feeding sites for meals five days a week. However, beginning Tuesday, the district will offer meals at eight locations two days a week.

Those feeding sites will be open Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Beginning April 20, those sites will be open Mondays and Wednesdays each week at the same time.

The meals will be distributed at the following locations:

Harlingen High School
Harlingen High School South
Vernon Middle School
Memorial Middle School
Gutierrez Middle School
Vela Middle School
Lama Elementary
Treasure Hills Elementary
