Easter egg hunts taking place in Cameron County

With Easter about a week away, local organizations and stores will be holding Easter Egg hunts for the little ones this weekend.

Cameron County District Clerk Eric Garza will hold his fifth annual Easter Egg Hunt at several locations in Cameron County on Saturday.

The locations include:

10 a.m. in Port Isabel at Beulah Lee Park, located on Highway 100.

11:30 a.m. in Los Fresnos at 402 West Ocean Blvd.

1 p.m. at the County Park in Rio Hondo, 1005 S. Reynolds St.

2:30 p.m. in Primera in front of the Community Center

4 p.m. in La Feria at 1314 E. Business Highway 83

5:30 p.m. in San Benito at Kennedy Park, 400 Freddy Fender Lane.

There will be free hotdogs and punch while supplies last. Children should take their own Easter baskets.

The Walmart on Ruben Torres Boulevard in Brownsville will hold its third annual Easter Egg Hunt from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. also on Saturday. There will be hotdogs, candy bags, bike raffles, Easter baskets and piñatas.

Cascade Park will be the location of the first annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Cameron County Drainage District No. 1. It will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. It will be open to children ages from toddlers to 8-years-old.

Over 10,000 eggs will be placed around the park, located at 3510 Old Port Isabel Road in Brownsville. Children are encouraged to take their own Easter baskets.

Bass Pro Shops in Harlingen will hold an egg hunt from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 31. Children will need to collect five eggs from certain departments to claim their candy. Each child is limited to only five eggs.

The City of Brownsville will hold its annual Easter Egg hunt at the Brownsville Sports Park from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 29. Egg hunts will be held for specific age groups. Each child must bring their own basket.

The City of Primera egg hunt is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, March 24 at the Primera City Park, 22893 Stuart Place Road. Hot dogs and prizes will be available.

Rodeo Dental in San Benito is holding an egg hunt from 2 to 5 p.m., Friday, March 30 at 1141 Business 77. Children must bring their own baskets, they can get a photo with the Easter Bunny and enjoy free snow cones.

The 6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Chick-fil-A is planned for 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 31 at the Morrison Road location at 4325 N. Expressway 77. The hunt is for children 2 to 12 who will enjoy games, face painting and an egg hunt.
