Term limits the answer

A politician’s first ambition in life is to get elected. His second greatest ambition is to be re-elected.

And will do and promise almost anything to anyone to reach those goals.

The cost of running for office, particularly Federal Office can be quite expensive.

So the candidate has to make deals and or promises to their backers and parties.

So how can we keep politicians on the straight and narrow?

How can we depend that our electees will represent the American Ideal of fair government for all the people and not just the cash laden few? Simple.

Term limitations.

When elected official know that their time in office is limited they have no reason to surrender their ideals for a few reelection dollars.

No shady deals or bridges to nowhere for a few votes.
