Federal authorities arrested a man Monday who they accuse of using a cellphone to record the sexual assault of a minor relative, according to a criminal complaint.

BROWNSVILLE – Federal authorities arrested a man Monday who they accuse of using a cellphone to record the sexual assault of a minor relative, according to a criminal complaint.

Manuel Tedoro Perez is facing a federal charge of coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct, court documents show.

According to the criminal complaint, Perez is accused of abusing the minor relative from June 2016 to October 2017. He also allegedly admitted to downloading “numerous” images of videos of child pornography from a Russian website, which authorities backed up after forensic analysis, according to the complaint against Perez.

After making an initial appearance Wednesday, a magistrate ordered Perez held without bond.
