The City of Harlingen will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Harlingen Convention Center at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017, in the business district across the Bass Pro Shops development.
The Convention Center will be located behind the Sam’s Club retail store.
The 44,436-square-foot convention center will have the capacity to host a broad range of events from state and regional conferences, as well as weddings, quinceañeras, and other upscale celebrations.
