To those politicians eroding and clipping away at our founding fathers’ Constitutional 2nd Amendment Rights:
Are you proposing taking guns away from criminal and cartel organizations who have taken over our southern Border, or just law-abiding Americans?
We keep reading news and watching TV media reports of overt human smuggling, homicides, sexual crimes, Fentanyl trafficking, asylum-seeking violations, family-condoned unaccompanied children and abusive disregard for immigration law. Isn’t this a tyrannical and invasive country takeover?
Do you want the American people to become unarmed sitting ducks caving in to personal, socialist, self-serving, political greed? All this while criminal organizations freely maintain their gun rights?
Taking away our 2nd Amendment rights constitutes killing America’s democracy and freedom. It is tantamount to overthrowing our 246-year-old system of a free and sovereign government.
Gun removal from law-abiding citizens is what communists love to do, before the overthrow of a free sovereign government, ask Cubans and Venezuelans.

In the June 3 letters to the editor are printed two letters, from Jake Longoria and Imelda Coronado. They taut “America-loving people” and Biden not coming to the Valley.
I don’t know how they can even call themselves “patriots.” They blame one person for all the woes of this country. Maybe they need a lesson on government.
I read The Monitor daily. I actually stop and pick up a hard copy on my way to work. I enjoy the challenge of doing the crossword, Jumbles and Cryptoquip. Gets me away from all the chaos in the world for a few minutes. Maybe we all need to do this.
