Letters: Vote against Republicans

“This jury was a joke” — Marco Rubio.

“This verdict makes me want to vote for Trump twice” — Tommy Tuberville.

“The NY judicial system is off the rails” — Lindsey Graham.

So much for the progress in the MeToo movement. The above is a sample of Republican reaction to the sexual abuse and defamation verdict that went against Trump on May 9. The jury (nine men, three women) took less than three hours to decide the case; the judge assessed $5 million in damages.

Every woman in the country should vote against Republicans (and anyone of like mind) for the duration of:

No reproductive choices.

No reasonable, national gun laws.

Tacit approval of sexual misconduct from the White House to the gym, and regardless of the age of the victim (look up Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, et al.).

For a reminder of what a reprise of Trump as president might be like, pull up any segment of CNN’s town hall in New Hampshire on May 10. Trump hasn’t changed a bit.

Here are some other passing thoughts:

Trump and Leona Helmsley were the NYC scandal of the 80s. Wonder why she was eventually vilified (rightly so), but he is still getting a pass, even kudos from so many?

Deficient

facilities

I have been a patient of several of the doctors who are housed in McAllen Doctors Center attached to the South Texas Hospital in McAllen.

Although this facility is for doctors to examine patients of various ages and states of health, I find the lack of handicapped toilet facilities an affront to the patients and their tenants who are caring for tens if not hundreds of handicapped patients a week.

Doctors do various medical tests where the patient needs a handicapped restroom facility. Why do you not have that facility standard in your tenants’ offices? Isn’t this a violation of state and federal ADA regulations?

They repaired a sidewalk that did not meet the needs of the patients. How about fixing the restroom facilities up to ADA standards? I am surprised that McAllen building inspectors have not cited them for this failure at these offices.

Cornyn

blasted

Your May 19 front page reports John Cornyn’s negative stand against Trump. It begs the question: why?

As one of many Texan conservatives, through the years I have voted for him in the face of so many leftist Marxists bent on replacing him with one of their Marxism brand. Why is he unabashedly attacking Republican Trump? Has the Washington swamp become a personal cushy comfort for him, ignoring the irreparable damage they’re advancing against our freedom and democracy? We don’t hear any negative comments from him on the fact how the Marxist Democrats are destroying our economic stability and real democracy. Is he for them or not? Good hardworking, suffering American conservatives need to know where he really stands. A person of good character and integrity should always stand for something good for the suffering people or stand for nothing.
