Blame misplaced

Don’t put blame where not deserved.

Twenty-three months after the worst demonstration of anti-Americanism in our country’s history since the Civil War was organized, manned and carried out by radical members of the Republican Party, they are still trying to justify their existence by complaining their current wants are not being heard and their fears not being addressed. Blame placing and finger pointing is rampant when only apologies and fence mending should be offered.

Unfortunately, their justifications are at best exaggerations and at worst lies.

Imelda Coronado’s commentary of April 10 states that President Biden has increased our nation’s debt by $10 trillion, when according to CNN and University of Syracuse figures it’s $3.1 trillion. She goes on to state that his current budget directs $6.7 trillion for social spending and the Ukraine. Wrong Again. The New York Times states,” President Biden proposed a $6.9 trillion (total) budget that sought to increase spending on the military and social programs while also reducing future budget deficits”

She then directs her wrath at people she labels “spinners.” “self-contained do-gooders” and the infamous “they.” Who are these people? Identify them, Imelda! You only identify them as people who are “pushing fake climate change” (really a fact), pro-abortion (no, Imelda, we are pro “right to choose”), support teaching critical race theory (yes, any theory should be studied so it can weighed in the light of day and not some political back room), sexualization of small children, (only God determines that), “backward language creation wokeism” (What is that?)

You say there are “no parental rights” and want them back. I might agree on that point since parents abdicated those rights years ago when discipline, any education and daily childcare were removed from parenting and left to the schools and daycare facilities.

You whine about no school control. Did you attend every PTA and school board meeting? I have attended a few. I saw no or poor attendance.

Remember, it was a Texas committee that wanted to call slavery “involuntary relocation.”

You demand the choice of schools. I ask why taxpayers (with or without children) should pay for any child’s education in schools where they have less control than now. Why should we further separate America by teaching lies or various opinions, not one truth?

You say “spinners” and “they” condone abortion and because of this there were “6 million unborn babies.” No one is pro-abortion. However, many reasonable people recognize its necessity.

You say Republicans, conservatives and independents believe in the rule of law. You are right about independents, but please don’t forget it was the radical Republicans and their conservative followers that sponsored, organized and carried out that stain on our Democracy.

It’s reassuring that you hope it will not happen again. However, don’t equate it with “demonstrations (however ill advised) by the public.” Jan. 6 was organized, funded, and led by politicians (at the top) of one party, yours! The goal was to overthrow our government.

Finally, you list requirements and specifications for future American leaders. My last question: Why didn’t you apply any of those requirements and specifications to the last president your party nominated and elected?
