Letters: Jan. 6 tapes addressed

Ambition. Greed. Corruption. Kevin McCarthy made more promises than Santa Claus to the new House members and even Tucker Carlson to trade for the speaker’s gavel. Carlson’s gift landed him 41,000 hours of security surveillance video of the Capitol from the Jan. 6 Committee. Guess what he wanted it for — to edit together empty spaces in the Capitol and a few shots of invaders wandering around. The infamous Jan. 6 day is meant to represent strolling tourists and other “visitors.”

Does Carlson really believe the GOP base consists of folks with whiplash belief (or rather a slow turning of the head after all this time) will believe such cherry-picking tripe? Although pollsters say that few GOP — extremists anyway — watched the Jan. 6 hearings, most of us saw four to five hours on live television and numerous repeats of the bloody coup attempt.

Carlson doesn’t seem to have much respect for his viewers, especially after the news releases of the Dominion investigation and lawsuit. What was said, sent, discussed in texts, emails, calls, revealed once and for all what chief Fox hosts believe and say about Trump and the Big Lie. Carlson was quoted saying that he “hated Trump passionately.” He and others made clear they knew that Joe Biden was elected without fraud.

The lovely and talented Marjorie Taylor Greene saw the new tapes of a quiet Capitol and remarked that the Shaman ought to have a new trial. The Shaman had pleaded guilty.

History

abridged

Any officeholder who tries to “rewrite” delete a part of history just for the love of scoring brownie points in pursuit of seeking higher office should stop right now and move on from there.

The corrupt tactic of altering all or parts of history in schools should be ruled unconstitutional by any court at any level because it hinders the students’ freedom and ability to learn all the diverse history of the U.S. from its beginnings to the present.

This also serves as an abuse of power from our government officials because the determination of which subjects are to be taught to the students should be left in the hands of local school boards or a board of regents altogether.

Here’s a lesson for those politicians who refuse to cease this immoral practice of attempting to distort history in schools: Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Provide more

golf coverage

It would be beneficial for newspapers to have articles about golf and golfers to raise awareness of the game because this can benefit golf courses so that they can have better course management and equipment and sponsors. Readers would be interested in this because they would have excellent places to go to on weekends and communicate with people who also are interested in the sport.

I personally have gained a sense of peace and calmness from the sport because you have the opportunity to play by yourself or with a group of people who have the same interests as one another.

I think this should be printed at least once or twice a week so that you are still able to produce the same articles you commonly print.
