Letters: History needed

The good will toward all in America has been on a slippery slope for many decades, but for the last 14 years the slope seems to have been lubricated with white lithium grease.

I am hearing really stupid utterances from a lot of politicians lately pertaining to what is being taught in our schools. History as a fact recorded and disseminated in history books, no matter how gruesome it is or how uncomfortable it is, should be taught to our children.

In North America the native citizens (estimated 12 million) were a thriving population when Europe sent its people here to interrupt, corrupt and, according to the invaders, civilize the population. Look at what happened to the native population and its demise. That’s history.

The 2020 census reported 42 million people were considered Black. This figure if correct came as descendents from 450,000 Africans brought to America as slaves! Some 12.5 million were captured and transported in slave ships during this time period arriving in South and North America. Untold numbers died during the voyage aboard those unsanitary ships. It took centuries to abolish this horrible practice of regulating these people to a status of sub-human. That’s history.

In our 2020 census the Jewish population was reported to be 7.5 million people. During the Holocaust time period, 6 million Jews were killed, tortured and experimented on. The Jews have been treated as sub-human all the way back in time immortal. But they continue to thrive and multiply even against all odds. That’s history.

I beg all Americans to wake up and elect people who have good morals, good judgment and are patriotic to America and its Constitution. Facts of history really count.

Fox lied

to viewers

For many years, Fox reporters have been taking their audience for fools, lately telling them lies about a stolen election. There’s now evidence that these Fox reporters knew they were lying, but they also knew their audience was stupid enough to believe them. They didn’t want to tell the truth because they were afraid to lose their ignorant, gullible audience to other radical right-wing propaganda sources.

Evidence of these lies has come out in texts and emails these reporters sent to each other in the court case of Dominion suing Fox for defamation for willfully lying about their voting machines. But of course, Fox has not shared this “news” with its audience. Keep them ignorant seems to be its motto.

Fox is also telling its audience that what they saw with their own eyes on TV on Jan. 6, 2021, didn’t really happen. MAGA Trumpers didn’t try to overthrow the newly elected government of the US. The Capitol police beaten with American flags, sprayed with chemicals, broken bones, broken doors and windows, breaking into offices, and all the rest of the violence and threats they saw on TV never really happened, according to Tucker Carlson.

Why did Carlson do this? Because he takes his audience for ignorant fools.

Fox news is propaganda for those who can’t handle the truth.

The Fox channel is not news; it’s a spreader of right-wing, fascist propaganda.
