Letters: Immigration questioned

I would like to address and pose some questions to illegal immigration activists and apologists who continue to use this forum to attack and vilify Gov. Greg Abbott for his efforts to secure the border and/or anyone who is critical of massive/unrestricted immigration.

(1) What positive good is derived from massive/unrestricted illegal immigration?

(2) How much is too much illegal immigration at the expense of American taxpayers who have to pick up the tab for food, shelter, transportation, etc., of illegal immigrants?

(3) Would illegal immigration activists/apologists stop vilifying and attacking Gov. Abbott if he declared Texas a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants and then provided them with room and board in luxury hotels as is being done in New York City?

(4) Finally, what moral argument or justification can be made to place the interests and well being of those who enter the country illegally over the interests and safety of U.S. citizens?

They all knew

“They ALL Knew,” a 2-minute YouTube video, features several prominent GOPers during the 2016 primary at their incisive, from-the-heart best, eviscerating candidate Donald Trump. Among Senators:

Lindsey Graham: “I don’t why you like this guy. He’s a race-baiting xenophobic bigot. … I think he’s a kook. … I think he’s crazy. … I think he’s unfit for office.”

Ted Cruz: “Whatever he does, he accuses others of doing. The man cannot tell the truth … but he combines it with being a narcissist at a level I don’t think this country’s ever seen. … He doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of his mouth.”

Rand Paul: “My concern is he would grab up that power and really treat the country as sort of his little bully fiefdom. … Donald Trump is a delusional narcissist and an orange-faced windbag.”

Marco Rubio: “He’s been exploiting working Americans for 40-years. … Donald Trump is a con artist.”

Sue Collins: “I just cannot support Donald Trump.”

Nikki Haley, ex-South Carolina governor, UN Ambassador 2017-18: “Donald Trump is everything I taught my children not to do in kindergarten.”

Kellyanne Conway, senior counselor for the Trump administration, 2017-20: “(H)e’s actually done a lot of his business on the backs of the little guy.”

Rick Perry, Ex-Texas governor, Trump’s secretary of Energy: “… a toxic mix of demagoguery and mean-spiritedness and nonsense.”

Glenn Beck, pundit: “Don’t think Donald Trump has even read the Constitution, knows what’s in the Constitution.”

MAGA audiences embraced numerous character flaws, ignored conflicts of interest, corruption by family, administration officials and Trump’s gross incompetence.

Trumpism is a toxic affliction on the body politic. Gaslighting’s “air of respectability” is classic misdirection undermining the American experiment.

Preserve and protect our inspired core constitutional “rule of law-due process” values. “They ALL Knew” documents complicity with evil’s reign of errors. Gas-lighting revisionism aims to conceal reality’s truths.
