Letters: Taxes misused

I am writing in response to the governor of Texas sending migrants to the frigid north. I am a Texan, at this point, and can understand the problems we have with the enormous amount of people wishing to enter the United States. I do resent the governor using my tax dollars as a political ploy (I do pay more taxes than our previous president).

There are people out there who I am certain can correct me if I am in error. It seems some of the people trying to enter the U.S. are refugees. Somehow, I am under the impression that countries, by treaty or pact, are obligated to take in these people. If indeed that is the case, the U.S. must take in these people.

I don’t really understand the status of non-refugees. I am certain some of your regulars have done their due research, and can clarify my understanding.

Equality

absent

If you think the GOP supports the idea that all people are created equal, think again. The GOP came unglued when the Biden administration traded a Black American female for a White, Russian gun dealer. Fox News went further by complaining that she was a lesbian. Why are these people so afraid of gay people? Probably because they are in the closet and don’t realize it. Some men who shoot up gay bars have a history of gay sex. Whether in politics or the clergy, those ranting about “them queers” seem to have a very high incidence of gay desire.

Paul Whelan was the one the GOP wanted released. He is white, Christian and a supporter of Donald Trump. Kevin McCarthy played him up as an American hero and Marine vet. The Russians arrested him while Trump was in office and Trump did nothing.

Whelan is a citizen of the U.S., England, Northern Ireland and Canada. His resume was a series of lies like that of Herschel Walker. He received a bad conduct discharge from the U.S. Marines for several larceny events, three counts of dereliction of duty, making false official statements, wrongfully using another’s Social Security number, writing 10 bad checks and ID theft.

The GOP wanted him traded, but Putin said, “No!” It must have been Biden’s fault; everything else is.

Don’t compare

our presidents

Local, frequent writers to The Monitor enjoy criticizing President Biden on everything, but their error is that they’re wrong. For example, student loan forgiveness: Some say it’s a transfer to the taxpayers. We’ll, let’s see. Mr. Coronado may have been content with Donald Trump’s transfer of debt of $3 trillion from the top 1% of earners to the middle-class earners in 2016. Wow, wow, wow!

I say to you as you pretend to look up for the middle-class taxpayers, is it fair that the richest in America got that windfall tax break and not the poor and the middle class?

The loan sharks of the college loans would never permit the recipients to payoff because they were milking the prior students.

Comparing the two presidents’ laws is akin to saying Trump is not a liar and Biden is a Republican. No way, Jose! There, microphone drop! Period.
