Letters: Trump backed

Alas and alack, it seems that Trump Derangement Syndrome still has its grip upon many of the ill-and-under-informed, lefty Democrats here in the RGV; I’m afraid it’s epidemic! They have long-been entranced by the repetition of “Trump is a racist, Trump is the devil, Trump is Hitler” (most recently by croaked out by crooked Hillary Clinton). They have lost all sense of rationality, not to mention common sense.

The constant, daily chant of “sapos y culebras” thrown at Trump by Democrat politicians, CNN, MSNBC, The View, late-night comedians, et al., sunk into their cerebra so deep that it would probably take a cult deprogrammer to free them from their delusions.

These “never Trumpers” are so afraid of his running again that they are beside themselves. They write letter to the editor quite frequently, and it’s always the same rhetoric as stated above. Whom they are trying to convince is difficult to comprehend. They never give reason why Trump is as they depict him, what he has done specifically to deserve their condemnation, just that he is so. Neither do they state what good or benefit Biden and their beloved Democrat Party have brought about for the nation or the RGV.

My contention is that Trump has accomplished more for the USA in four years than Biden has in all his 50-year stint in politics. I challenge them to list Biden’s accomplishments during all this time.

On the other hand, under Trump and right before COVID (for which Trump managed to get vaccines developed at “warp speed” after ramping up production of necessary respirators and personal protective equipment), we had no “transitory” high inflation (it was 1.5%), 3.5% unemployment with record employment for Blacks, Hispanics, Asians and a historic high for women, a secure border, no Russian intrusion into Ukraine (not even a small one!), and no threats from Russia, China or North Korea. We had under $2-a-gallon gasoline, we were energy-independent, and actually, we were exporting natural gas and oil. Trump beefed-up the military to its strongest ever; the U.S. was respected worldwide. I could continue, but these accomplishments of Trump will suffice for now.

Ad campaign

draws outrage

The social influencers are at it again with a million-dollar ad campaign, “He gets us.” Somehow, someone funded these ego junkies in a veiled attempt to rebrand Jesus. The ads show images of youths in hoodies in what appear to be riot conditions and then they compare themselves

to Jesus and his disciples, who they say also was a rebel of sorts.

Don’t buy in to this propaganda; it’s just the influencers trying to make things that are wrong, right. The motive of the group behind “He gets us” is to introduce us to a new Jesus, and by welcoming a stranger or paying someone a compliment or serving the poor. Lastly, we are asked to forgive someone so that you can get “He gets me” merchandise, caps, T-shirts and yes, water bottles.

Hello, are these not the things that Christianity has taught us to do in our daily lives along with the 10 Commandments? This is a terrible misrepresentation of the teachings of Jesus and should be called out for what they are: blasphemous!
