Letters: Migrants and ethics

The Biden administration, Democrat leaders and various media are questioning the ethical behavior of Gov. Ron DeSantis and Gov. Greg Abbott for busing “migrants” to Democrat-run cities and to wealthy Martha’s Vineyard. In fact, these entities want to bring charges against the governors.

If we’re going to cite ethical behavior, is the Biden administration ethical?

Letting our borders remain open so that illegal “migrants” float into already overcrowded border towns that can’t handle the costs and the numbers of illegal “migrants” roving through their towns — is that ethical?

Is it ethical or legal for the Biden administration to bus and fly “migrants” to other states, mostly red states, and to force those states to accept federal upkeep and housing of said “migrants?” Before the justice system goes after DeSantis and Abbott, they need to go after the Biden administration first — but will they? I think we know the answer to that question.

defended

Mr. Ned Sheats’ letter dated Sept. 13 takes issue with Mrs. Coronado for defending the life of a fetus, stating that Mrs. Coronado is wrongfully comparing a fetus to a breathing, thinking

child.

It is the mother’s job to breathe and think for her unborn child. Now, if no one murders the fetus, it will become a breathing, thinking child and eventually an adult (yes, human being), and most likely a parent and a grandparent.

Believing that a fetus is not human is just an easy way to ease a person’s conscience. But the atrocity has been committed. A life has been taken. Believe what you want if it will help your conscience, but if a fetus has been forcibly removed from it’s mother’s womb, a life has been taken. One of the most important commandments, if you recall, is “thou shall not kill.” Now, to be clear, they are not the 10 “requests,” they are the 10 “commandments.”

Mr. Sheats is wrong to state that Mrs. Coronado “defends her version of the 2nd Amendment allowing people … to buy military-style rifles, then journey miles to take out schoolchildren.” Mrs. Coronado does not have her version of the Second Amendment of the Constitution. The Second Amendment is the Second Amendment, period. Nowhere in Mrs. Coronado’s writings will you ever find her stating that she is in favor of a deranged weirdo buying a rifle and using it to execute children, and I can’t fathom any sane person believing that.

By the way, Mr. Sheats, I got a very funny feeling when I read your statement, “Please, Mrs. Coronado, leave us real Americans alone.” Shame on you, Mr. Sheats. I think you are living in the wrong century.

Mission

Election

madness

Mid-term election madness is in full swing. Republicans are all in, betting on their aggressive efforts to make it difficult for the poor, elderly and people of color to vote. Soul-rotting work.

For example, in 2020, Republican Gov. Greg Abbott restricted ballot drop boxes to one per county.

There are 4.7 million people in 1,778-square-mile HarrisCounty, which is 20.3% Black. There are 10,500 people in 275-square-mile FranklinCounty, which is 4.8% Black.

Go figure. Won’t take long.
