Letters: Let’s reset

Stop! It’s time to push the reset button, take a time out, and come to terms with each other because, with this amount of internal hostility, America cannot last much longer.

What do you want, Mr. Liberal? You want a $20-an-hour minimum wage, a 20-hour work week, full medical coverage, 30 days of vacation a year, a union-guaranteed job in your choice of profession, city and pay rate, a no-contribution Social Security system, free college and welfare payments equal to that above if you decide work is not your “thing?”

And what do you want, Mr. Conservative? From an Independent’s point of view, you have shown that you will not be satisfied with less than total control of everyone’s spiritual and physical presence, work, finances, education, procreation, health, goals and ambitions. You want an oligarchy in which a limited number of rich control the poor because, after all, the rich are rich because they are better Americans, right?

Keep it up, liberals; you will spend and tax us into oblivion, not to mention increasing the costs of our products to a place where no other nation can afford them. As to welfare, try to understand that some people can’t or don’t want to be helped. They want to be cared for.

Require “workfare.”

Keep trying, conservatives, working toward a totalitarian oligarchy. Watch the film “1984,” generate a social upheaval that will make the Civil War look like a high school football game. In either case Nikita Khrushchev will have been right when he said he would take us without having to fire a shot.

Solution: Remove politicians older than 50 from office. Establish term limits for all elected officials. Do away with the Electoral College. Declare gerrymandering to be a crime. Outlaw the filibuster. Declare that a passing vote in Congress is a 10-vote majority. Declare it illegal to add on items intended to kill a bill or to provide passage of bad legislation. Require the vice president and speaker of the House to meet every month to move legislation through the process or declare dead those that aren’t.

I’m 79. I don’t much care how you screw up America, but what about your children and grandchildren? You are going to give them a chance, aren’t you?

Mission

Sick

men

Until recently I wouldn’t have believed Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis could sink any lower. I was wrong. To gin up more political hate for the midterm elections, they hit a new soul-rotting low by duping, transporting and literally dumping poor, desperate immigrants in northern cities.

These two U.S. coyotes are very sick men. But that’s been obvious for a long time.

As the Bible says, “Ye shall know them by their fruits.” The Old Testament God I read about in my youth will have a special place for them in hell, and for those who think what they’ve done is funny.

In the meantime, I pray that in this life Coyote Abbott and Coyote DeSantis will face federal charges for kidnapping and interstate human trafficking.

Lock ’em up!
