School closures for Friday

Donna ISD announced that all campuses and facilities will remain closed Wednesday. There will not be any virtual or in-person classes. Meal distributions will also be closed.

Edcouch-Elsa ISD will be closed on Wednesday. The district expects to resume normal operations Thursday.

Weslaco ISD will remain closed on Wednesday.

Mercedes ISD has cancelled classes for Wednesday. Classes will resume on Thursday.

San Perlita ISD will remain closed Thursday and Friday. We expect to resume classes at 8 a.m. on Monday.

Sharyland ISD will implement asynchronous learning for Wednesday. No one should physically be at any campuses due to security precautions. Auxiliary and hourly staff should consult with their immediate supervisors for further instructions regarding scheduling or delays. Meal distribution will be based on availability of utilities at schools, and announcements will be forthcoming.

Mission ISD will continue with remote lessons on Wednesday. The district will use asynchronous lessons so everyone can complete their work at their own pace. Auxiliary staff members will report to work on a delayed schedule and will be advised by their supervisors.

PSJA ISD will be cancelling school Wednesday, but will restart the Grab and Go Meal Distributions Wednesday at all PSJA Schools from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Edinburg CISD has extended remote learning to 100% without students in schools through Friday. The curbside meal program will be closed and is expected to resume operations on Thursday.

Los Fresnos CISD has canceled classes and closed district campuses for the rest of the week. All district offices remain closed as well. As of now, classes are scheduled to resume and offices scheduled to re-open Monday, Feb. 22.

McAllen ISD has cancelled all classes for the remainder of the week. The district plans to return to normal operating procedures on Monday. Families with connectivity issues can pick up hot spots at the McAllen ISD Central Office, located at 2000 North 23rd Street, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The district is encouraging families to visit the McAllen ISD meals page for meal locations. Varsity athletics events will continue as scheduled this week.

IDEA Schools have cancelled all classes for Thursday, including virtual instruction. Any further updates regarding classes on Friday will be shared with families via text or campus social media pages.

South Texas ISD campuses and offices will be closed Friday. There will be no classes held virtually or in-person, and they will not be serving curbside meals.

San Benito CISD is cancelling all district operations for Wednesday. All district campuses and facilities will be closed. There will be no classes for students.

Brownsville ISD remains closed this week and distance learning continues due to inclement weather and possible power outages.

UTRGV announced that all classes (on campus and online) are cancelled for Wednesday and will resume Thursday, unless otherwise notified. Students who continue to experience power outages/Internet connectivity issues over the next few days should contact their faculty members and apprise them of their situation as soon as possible. Faculty members will work with those students to ensure the continuity of their coursework.

Texas Southmost College is suspending its operations through Tuesday. Weather permitting, TSC will reopen on Wednesday for normal operations.
