Tamaulipas Governor Francisco Javier García Cabeza de Vaca will be meeting with Texas Governor Greg Abbott today, Friday, to discuss international crossings.
Details of the exact time are pending but it is tentatively scheduled to happen in Weslaco in the afternoon, according to a Tamaulipas state official.
The meeting follows two others held between border governors from Nuevo León and Chihuahua with Abbott after he announced the beginning of additional vehicle inspections by DPS last week.
Since then, the inspections led to prolonged wait times, protests, blockades, burned trailers in Reynosa, and bipartisan opposition.
