On Monday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Anzalduas International Bridge arrested a 79-year-old Robstown man for an outstanding felony warrant, according to a press release.
Inocencio Garza de la Rosa has been wanted since July and is charged with sexual abuse of a child.
“CBP screens all travelers entering the United States,” Port Director Carlos Rodriguez said in the release. “We are committed to bringing in those individuals to face criminal charges, especially those wanted for heinous crimes against children.”
Garza arrived from Mexico at the Anzalduas International Bridge when a CBP officer detained Garza once he discovered he was a possible match for an arrest warrant.
Utilizing biometric verification, the officer confirmed Garza’s identity with the active arrest warrant from the Euless, Texas police department.
A Mission police officer took custody of Garza and transported him to the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center pending his extradition to Euless.
