Starting pay for teachers at Point Isabel ISD will soon increase to $53,200 thanks to a pay bump that the school board approved at a recent meeting.

The 3% increase in pay for teachers is accompanied by a 2% raise for administrators, clerical and auxiliary employees, according to a Point Isabel ISD news release.

In addition to the raises, $4,000 stipends will also be available for all employees.

“This raise reflects the district’s deep appreciation for the vital role teachers play in shaping the lives of students and acknowledges their unwavering commitment to education excellence,” the release stated regarding the 3% increase.

The 2% adjustment was also designed to help the district compete with other schools.

“This adjustment will further enhance the district’s ability to recruit and retain talented individuals across all departments,” the release further read.
